A process for manufacturing a low-energy reference specimen for Charpy impact testing.

How it works

The proposed process consists of simple heat treatment steps, including heating, cooling, hardening, tempering and re-hardening, resulting in low-energy Charpy impact test specimens that can be tested at room temperature. This approach simplifies manufacturing without compromising the accuracy of the results.
