The sensor provides accurate and reliable measurements of the integrity of structures.

Versatility

The device can be used to measure a variety of parameters, including deformation, displacement, vibration and corrosion.

Easy installation

The sensor is easy to install and does not require prior instrumentation of the structure to be monitored.

The problem-solution approach

The safety of metallic structures is a critical factor in various sectors of industry, such as electric, construction, oil and gas. Deformations, vibrations and corrosion can cause damage to these structures, resulting in severe accidents and significant economic losses. Currently, traditional monitoring methods, such as electrical sensors, are limited by factors such as electromagnetic interference and the need for prior instrumentation of the structure.

What is it?

The sensor consists of a magnet and an optical fiber. The magnetic force between the magnet and the ferromagnetic material of the structure varies depending on the distance between them. This variation can be used to measure the deformation, displacement, vibration or corrosion of the structure.

How it works

The sensor is installed in the structure to be monitored. The magnet is positioned close to the surface of the structure and the optical fiber is fixed at a known distance from the magnet. When deformation, displacement, vibration or corrosion occurs in the structure, the distance between the magnet and the surface of the structure varies. This variation changes the wavelength of the light passing through the optical fiber, which can be measured using appropriate equipment
