The system eliminates the need to take samples for analysis, which reduces costs and response time.
The system makes it possible to monitor hazardous installations without putting workers’ safety at risk.
The system can be used to monitor the presence of liquids in industrial processes, which can help avoid unexpected stoppages and production losses.
The system uses an accurate and reliable optical method for measuring the refractive index.
Detecting and identifying liquids in dangerous or hard-to-reach places, such as pipes, tanks and industrial environments, is a complex task that can pose risks to workers. In addition to collecting samples for analysis being a challenging task, traditional detection methods (such as ultrasonic or electromagnetic sensors) can present problems of precision and reliability on these occasions, making it difficult to carry out an accurate analysis.
A system for the detection and identification of liquids that uses Fresnel reflection to measure the refractive index of the liquid. The system consists of an optical emitter, an optical coupler, a sensor and photodetectors. The processing and display unit provides the results of the analysis.
The light produced by the emitter is transmitted through the optical coupler to the sensor, which is in contact with the liquid to be analyzed. The reflection of the light on the sensor is captured by the photodetectors, which send the signals to a processing and display unit. The processing unit uses algorithms to identify the liquid based on the measured refractive index.
